Kunstmuseum Basel

The constant expansion of the Basel Public Art Collection, which began with the Amerbach Cabinet purchased in 1661, made it necessary to move the collection within Basel several times over the centuries. In 1936 our main building at St. Alban-Graben was opened. 1980 took place with the Kunstmuseum Basel | A first expansion took place today, and a second one in 2016 with the new building.
