Art Institute Melly was originally set up as an art house with the mission to present and discuss the ideas and work of contemporary visual artists and culture makers. To fulfill our core task of presenting contemporary art and theory, we organize exhibitions, commission art, publish and develop educational and collaborative projects. The institute applies a practice of collective learning. This means that different forms of knowledge are made spatially transparent and that information is socialized. Public involvement is an intrinsic part of our creative processes and artistic presentations.
